Conclusion

The cause of migraines remains unresolved, and a cure has not yet been found, but researchers have been able to discover ways and means to help curb migraine pain and symptoms. The use of alternative prevention methods, such as avoiding trigger factors and relaxation, has had a profound effect on migraine prevention. Also, the use of select medications, including opioids, has been found to ease the symptoms and, in some cases, reverse the progression of migraines. Until researchers discover a cure, individuals can take precautions and communicate their symptoms to their healthcare providers to find relief from migraine attacks.
